Introducing LinkedIn Reactions

LinkedIn stated they took a thoughtful approach to designing these reactions, centred around understanding which ones would be most valuable to the types of conversations members have on LinkedIn.

The intention is to give more ways to quickly and constructively communicate with one another.

Here are their suggestions when they were launched:

Celebrate to praise an accomplishment or milestone like landing a new job or speaking at an event.

Love to express deep resonance and support, like a conversation about work life balance or the impact of mentorship.

Insightful can help you recognize a great point or interesting idea.

Curious lets you show your desire to learn more or react to a thought-provoking topic.

As a poster, these new reactions can help you better understand the impact your posts are having.

Time will tell if they are useful.

Just like any other thing you do, you need to test to see if they are effective for you.

There are other changes that are being introduced.

The “see connections” and “see contact” Info are now on the left below your name and headline.

The Summary is now called “About”, which makes sense.

The number of preview words has also been reduced on the desktop view.

I am certain there will be more changes to come.

Obviously, you should constantly check everywhere, as this applies to all internet platforms, some of which are not very good at informing users that changes have been made.
